Engineering Travel Grant
The Center for Global Engineering Engagement awards international travel grants to students in the College of Engineering each semester to ease the financial burden of studying abroad. These awards range from $300-$5,000 and are meant to enhance equal access to participation in an international experience. Travel grants are awarded to applicants with thoughtful, well-written essays regardless of financial need. The following criteria also may help your application but are not required.
- Studying engineering abroad
- Will be taking a foreign language abroad
- Are choosing a non-traditional location

Eligibility Requirements
The following requirements must be met:
- Must be an undergraduate degree-seeking student in the College of Engineering
- Must be applying to study abroad with a Penn State-approved program
- Must have already started an application for the semester in which you are applying for the grant
Deadlines
- Spring 2026: September 10, 2025
- Summer/Maymester 2026: TBD
- Fall 2026 and academic year: TBD
- Embedded courses (spring 2026 and fall 2025): The application must be submitted before the commitment deadline. Email international@engr.psu.edu to confirm your submission and the commit deadline.
When will I know if I am approved?
Applicants will receive notification of their award status prior to the commitment deadline of their study abroad program. Awards are not disbursed until participation is confirmed.
