Study Abroad Advising

We know that selecting a study abroad program is a significant decision. We are here to help students find the perfect fit for their academic, personal, and professional goals.

Before scheduling a meeting with the Engineering Study Abroad advisor, students should take the following steps:

  • Review the study abroad website and familiarize yourself with the available Engineering programs.
  • Consider when and where you want to study abroad – you don’t need to know exactly but give it some thought.
  • Reflect on your goals as they pertain to studying abroad - what are you hoping to gain from the experience? How does that align with what you're hoping to do after Penn State?
  • Attend any relevant study abroad events or information sessions.
  • Meet with a Global Engineering Fellow during their office hours to discuss general study abroad questions and to your explore options.
  • Once you have explored your program options and done the above, you should Schedule an appointment with the engineering study abroad adviser. We provide comprehensive support to help engineering students make informed decisions and ensure that they have an enriching experience abroad.

*Note, once you make a Starfish appointment, you will receive a confirmation email which contains the link to the required advising intake form.
