Asia Semester Programs

China. The Chinese University of Hong Kong

This program offers a wide variety of courses for students in CMPEN, BME, CMPSC, and ME. The university is located 30 minutes by train from downtown Hong Kong and is built into the lush, coastal hillsides, making it an ideal place for students to live and explore. Students can participate in a number of cultural field trips alongside other international students and will be housed on campus with Chinese students.

Japan. Tohoku University, Sendai

Tohoku offers a unique global experience to students in the EE, ME, CMPSC, and CMPEN programs that include a customized research component. Students can choose to take courses in the spring semester, which runs from April to September, or for the entire academic year, which runs from October to September. Students take at least 13 credits but can take up to 16. Students will be accommodated in an international student house and will be responsible for providing their own meals.

Malaysia. Monash University, Kuala Lumpur

This semester-long program is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the Monash University Campus. Students in ME, CMPSC, DS, and EE can find courses toward fulfilling major requirements. Monash Malaysia is the third-largest campus of Australia's largest university that operates in partnership with the Sunway Education Group. Students are taught by highly qualified academic staff from across the world. Monash University Malaysia is in a unique position to offer the very best in higher education that is possible within Malaysia and the region.

Singapore, National University of Singapore

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is ranked in the top ten of global engineering colleges. Students in several engineering programs have the opportunity to participate in a semester exchange program at NUS. Singapore is a highly developed city-state, consisting of a mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian culture, with English also as an official language. Students will schedule their courses after arrival and NUS will help students to make the best housing arrangements possible.

South Korea. CIEE: Seoul Arts, and Sciences

The CIEE Arts and Sciences program gives students an immersive experience in Seoul, South Korea’s cultural and educational heart, as well as its political and economic epicenter. The CIEE Study Center is based at Yonsei University, one of the most prestigious private institutions of higher education in Korea. Engineering students can find courses in BME, CHE, EE, and ME.

South Korea. Sogang University, Seoul 

Sogang University, a small institution with about 7,500 undergraduates, is considered to be one of the top schools in South Korea. The campus is centrally located in Seoul, easily accessible by public transportation. The immediate neighborhood has many small Korean restaurants, shopping, movies, cafés, etc. This institution offers a large selection of courses, with strengths in BME, CHE, CMPSC, EE, and ME.

South Korea. Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul.

Sungkwan University (SKKU) is ranked one of South Korea's best private institutions offering courses in English for CE, CHE, CMPSC, ESC, and ME. The engineering college campus is located in Suwon just outside the city of Seoul and with World Heritage listed fortifications, it is one of the most visited cities in South Korea. Spend the semester studying at one of the world’s oldest universities learning from world-class engineers and learning a new culture.
