Summer photo contest now open!

Submit your photos by August 1 for a chance to win

The Office of Global Engineering Engagement interested in sharing your study abroad experiences and is looking for great photos that tell a story from your perspective. Be as creative as you’d like! The best entries will capture your experience abroad, engagement with the host culture, and/or have an original approach to the subject matter. We encourage photographs that capture locally characteristic phenomena, scenes, and people, but don’t forget to represent your Penn State pride!

Submit your photos by August 1 at sites.psu.edu/globalengr. The Office Global Engineering Engagement will choose six finalists to be displayed on our Facebook page on August 8. Voting will take place in the form of “likes” from August 8–16. Winners will be announced the following week on the Global Engineering Engagement Facebook page and will be posted on our website!

Prizes:

  • 1st Place: $75 Amazon Gift Card
  • 2nd and 3rd Places: $25 Amazon Gift Card

Photo Ideas:

  • Capture what it means to be an engineering student abroad.
  • Penn State pride! Capture yourself and/or a Penn State friend wearing or displaying Penn State gear while abroad.
  • Capture a photo that exemplifies a learning experience you had while abroad. In your description or caption, consider how your perspective has changed as a result of this experience.
  • Capture an event or experience that represents the culture you are exploring.
  • Share the breathtaking views and spectacular sights of your adventurous travels.
  • Showcase the unique aspects of city life all over the world, from architecture to city skylines to street vendors.

Eligibility:

Penn State students who are studying or have studied outside of the United States in the Summer 2019 semester are eligible to enter up to five photos.
